After the Legacy Quest
From SWG Wiki
So, you finished the Legacy Quest and are wondering what do do next?
If you are from one of the combatant professions, you can go to the Mission Terminals and start doing your "10 missions per day".
Note- You can use Mission Terminals to get you to about level 45... then you can do hunting quests on Kash which will earn you decorative heads for your walls. (Keep talking right?) Eventually you can also head to Mustafar and other planets for their quests, but Mission Terminals are a good alternative.
[edit] Mission Terminals
At the Mission Terminal, try to pick missions located in the same direction. You can only pick up two of these missions at a time (their types don't matter). If the game tells you can't pick no more than one mission, then check you datapad: you probably have one space mission, which prevents you from taking another Terminal mission. Complete that space mission or delete it (you can pick it up again with the contact).
Depending if you are Imperial or Rebel you can also do quests for your faction, you can boost your rank and get experiance but it is a much slower way of leveling up.
There are three types of missions:
- Delivery (low levels only);
- kill a few enemies and destroy an object like a statue or a base.
- kill a few enemies and destroy their lair.
The first type is the easiest and yields little to no experience.
The second and third types yield good experience - the same amount, the 2nd being much easier than the 3rd: just kill usually three enemies and then destroy the object which is the objective of the mission.
The third type is hardest because if you attack the lair, all the creatures from its type near it will either attack you or run to their lair and heal it (which is quite resistant). It is a good idea to form a group of 3, one including yourself. Anther basic strategy is to destroy all the creatures of that type first and then destroy the lair (even so, at times new creatures spawn during the attack, so be careful all the time). But that strategy may not work every time because the lair may spawn more than one creature (usually from 3 to 5) at the same time and they'll attack you. Even if you can stay far away from the lair to attack it, thinking you'll destroy it quicker (probably because its health is already low) than its creatures can heal it, its creatures will heal it faster than you and then come to attack you all at once. The strategy, since the beginning, is: -kill all creatures and then attack the lair. If a creature spawns, stop attacking the lair and kill it. If more spawn, and you can't kill them all, run away and wait - the creatures will not heal their lair, unless you attack it (if so, they'll heal it completely). Come back and kill all the creatures - they may be together, so aggro is highly likely. Try to pull one creature at a time (one shot might work), kill it and then come back for the others (clearing the area from other creatures not related to the lair - aggressive or not - helps when running, either to flee or to maneuver). The whole process may have to be repeated a few times (perhaps 3, if the creatures don't heal their lair) - be patient. Eventually, you'll achieve your objective!
The first 10 missions (2nd or 3rd type) from the Mission Terminal will have their experience boosted by the COMPNOR. The total experience from all 10 missions will result in a full level of your character, but only from level 8 to level 69 - from 70 to 79 the total will result in 65% of your next level and from 80 to 89 it will result in 45%. But only 10 missions from the Mission Terminal per day get that enhancement - in any level (a day defined in SWG is the Galactic Day, that cycles according to the server). If you do more than that, those missions will yield a few hundred experience points.
Using the "10 missions per day" strategy is a good way to level you characters steadily. Within a short time you can get your character one level and move on to another character, instead of spending hours to complete a quest to gain a fraction of your level with only one character.
