The button bar is a small element of the game interface always present in the heads up display. It contains the twelve icons used to access elements of the game interface not normally included in the HUD. Unless otherwise specified, the icon just shows/hides the element.

• Planetary Map
• Quest Journal -- the icon blinks if there are quest steps that can be done.
• Inventory
• Datapad
• Character Sheet
• Skills
• Mail -- the icon blinks if there is unread mail.
• Options
• Community
• Abilities & Commands
• Holocron
• Game menu (allows you to disconnect or exit the game)

The tool tip for each icon shows the current key mapping used to toggle the element.
