Character refers to an interactive humanoid representation of a game persona. Characters controlled by a player are most often referred to as a character and sometimes as avatar or toon. Characters controlled by the game are usually referred to as Non-player characters or NPCs.
Characteristics include: profession, species, attribute, faction, equipment, pets, housing, vehicles, mounts and ships.
Slots[]
The maximum number of characters per user account is 8, with no more than 2 per Galaxy. Prior to the NGE, a second character on a single galaxy was a benefit of having unlocked a Force Sensitive character with a system that has now been removed. Due to the changes that went in with the NGE, all of the players who had unlocked and created a second character before the NGE was released, were able to create a third character. This was not originally an intended or promised benefit to players who had unlocked their original second character under the old system, but the third slot was not revoked.
Name changes[]
A /rename command has been added to allow you to rename your character. A character must be at least 90 days old before he/she can be renamed. There is a 90 days wait before the character can be renamed again. Run the /rename command and follow the on screen instructions.
Transfers[]
You may transfer characters from accounts to account or server using the appropriate Free or Paid Character transfer service.
