Dathomir

Dathomir is an isolated, dangerous planet in the Outer Rim. Not many dare to adventure to its dark and feared lands. The environment is mostly a jungle covered in fog, making visibility difficult. Sunlight barely breaches the cloudy sky. Only a few minor outposts have been created on the planet due to its hazards and cruel lifeforms.

Often thought to be the most difficult planet in SWG, Dathomir is home to many famous creatures and NPC's, including Rancors and Nightsisters. The majority of creatures and enemies on this planet are aggressive. Even travelling by speeder is not a 100% safe way to travel. Like the other advanced planets, players may not place houses. Factories and harvesters can be built, however.

Dathomir was actually first introduced in the expanded universe novels for Star Wars. In Dave Anderson's "The Courtship of Princess Leia", Han Solo wins the planet in a game of Sabbacc. He then kidnaps Leia and runs to his new world in order to get her to fall back in love with him. However, unknown to Han, the planet does not come all free and clear. Force Sensitive natives known as the "Witches of Dathomir" hinder his and Leia's progress. Luke also joins the group and stumbles across an ancient starship used as a flying Jedi Academy from the Old Republic.
