Planetary control game
From SWG Wiki
Publish 13.1 introduced a new type of factional base, the PvE GCW Base. These are purchased and placed just like other factional bases, but provide content for PvE players by leaving out the PvP requirement. With this addition is the Planetary Control Game, which provides incentive for placing PvE bases. Each side (Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire) is fighting for control of each planet, which is determined by the number and type of factional bases each side controls. Being in control of a planet will bring NPC patrols of your faction into the static cities, thus making travelling more difficult and dangerous for the other side.
See Faction Base for Faction point costs for each base variant.

[edit] Gaining Planetary Control
To gain planetary control on a planet a pointscore value is calculated which is based on the placed Faction Bases on that planet. The faction with the higher score is in control of that planet. Each base type has a specific point value added to the overall planetary score and the point costs of existing bases increases over time. Currently there is no official word on the point value of bases neither the amount of increase in value over time, which is currently based on player observation only. Point values from symbolite/ unconfirmed/ observations only based on the GCW Scores across Ahazi Archive!
- PvE Outpost = 1/ PvP Outpost = 2
- PvE Hospital = 3/ PvP Hospitol = 6
- PvE Tactical = 4 or 5 / PvP Tactical = 8 or 10
- PvE Detach = 10 / PvP Detach = 20
[edit] PvP Bases
- Counts significantly higher towards planetary control than a PvE base.
- Can be placed by any factioned player.
- Can only be entered by Special Forces players.
- The inside will be populated and protected by powerful NPCs.
- Will have a 3 hour vulnerability window but this window will only occur every 2 days (48 hours).
- Will register on the planetary map, visible only to players of the same faction.
- Can be destroyed by those who can get inside (Special Forces).
- The method of Faction Base destruction will remain the same is it is currently.
- When a player purchases a PvP base they will receive 2 PvE bases for free. These can be sold, traded or placed as needed.
- Factional bases will no longer cost lots. You will be limited to a maximum of 3 bases per player.
[edit] PvE Bases
- Allow all players to participate in the GCW. They will count as part of the planetary control game, but not as much as PvP bases.
- Any factioned player can place a PvE Base.
- Defended by NPC's on the base's perimeter. Players may add turrets as desired.
- Can be entered by Special Forces and Combatant players.
- PvE bases are always vulnerable. When they are defeated, they will explode.
- Will register on the planetary map, visible only to players of the same faction.
- Can be destroyed by those who can get inside (Special Forces and Combatants).
- The method of Faction Base destruction will remain the same is it is currently.
- PvE bases are distributed to PvP enabled players as part of a PvP base purchase. They may be given freely among friends and guilds/PAs, traded, or purchased on the open market.
- May also be purchased from Faction Recruiters, at a lower cost in comparison to PvP Bases.
- Turrets are currently bugged and may not be placed (a publish was made to make it so turrets were donated anyway),turrets at this point may not even still function.
[edit] ALSO
Planetary control that registers on recruiters is based of of the number of Galactic Civil War kills made by a Special Forces player (see Faction Settings)with 1 point per PVP, one point for every 20-30 PVE kills by one player.(please give an exact number)
[edit] City Patrols and Stronghold Cities
- Static cities on Corellia, Naboo and Tatooine now includes an ever-present force of patrolling guards of varying difficulty. These include factional NPC's, as well as neutral a police force, which will be loyal to the current faction in control.
- Patrolling guards continue to respawn until the other side wins back control of the planet. At this time the guards of the other side will spawn as the occupying force is killed.
- Two cities on each of these planets will never change faction. These are considered the stronghold cities of that faction.
- Corellia: Bela Vistal Imperial, Vreni Island Rebel
- Naboo: Dee'ja Peak Imperial, Moenia Rebel
- Tatooine: Bestine Imperial, Anchorhead Rebel
- Factional patrols will shoot opposing faction Combatants and Special Forces on sight. Be prepared to fight or run when you're in a city controlled by the other side!
- The strength of the guards will depend on how tightly the planet is controlled. If one side has a significant base count advantage over the other, the guards in the cities will be much more powerful.
[edit] Scans
- Neutral police force NPC's may occasionally scan players passing by. They are loyal to the faction that is currently in control of the planet. If they find that you are an enemy of the controlling faction or that you have illegal goods (spice or sliced equipment), you will either be fined, attacked, or lose faction, depending on the situation.
- Players that are On Leave run the risk of being detected and exposed to Combatant status when scanned.
- If a Jedi is scanned s/he runs the risk of being exposed. Should this happen, the police may panic and call for help, bringing a very powerful force on the Jedi. Note that Imperial allied police will call forces to attack any Jedi, regardless of faction. Rebel aligned police will only call guards to attack Dark Jedi.
[edit] Tracking
- Factioned players may keep track of the base score of each planet by talking to a Rebel recruiter or Imperial recruiter. Planetary control scores will be updated every hour. Banners within the city (usually at the Starport entrance) will also give notice of who is in control. News Net terminals in Starports can also be used by anyone to determine who is winning on the planet, but this gives only a headline and no specific score.
- At this time the tracking is in effect for all planets that allow bases to be placed. However, only the three starting planets will see it's effects. Expansion to the other planets is planned.
