[edit] Macros
Have recursive macros been removed?? I was using one just last night. This has been planned for many, many months, but we haven't heard anything about it for almost just as long. Someone please confirm, one way or the other. :) --Tandalo 05:10, 27 May 2005 (CEST)
Well a few macros i used to use have definatly stopped working, and all the websites that have grinding macro guides now say that you can't use them anymore. --Geco 09:36, 27 May 2005 (CEST)
- Unless this changed with Publish 17, then they still work. I've been using a recursive Duelist Stance macro since the CU. --Influenza 10:11, 27 May 2005 (CEST)
- Any word on this? I checked patch notes, but of course they don't always list every change. I can try writing a simple looping macro to see if it still works.--Tandalo 11:39, 15 Jun 2005 (CEST)
- I've been using a self repeating macro on publish 17 (dueliststance) and it was still working. There are different types of self repeating macros but not all are per se macros. The term macros is in general a bit fuzzy since there are as well the macros you can define under the marco tabs, to wich I refer as macros, as well as the /alias 'es with which you can shorten often used commands or can chain commands together, which some ppl also call macros.
- Aliases can be saved in an *.txt file in your SWG folder and can be loaded by /load aliasfilename.txt and SWG detects if you have aliases calling them self up or in a row (but only to a certain depth AFAIK). See SL forum for an example how to created aliases for colored /sys commands.
- Macros, as to what I refer to as macors, are defined under the CTRL A macro tab, and those have been functional as self-repeating in publish 17.something. You can call a macro by using /m macroname. Publish 18 will be out by now, but Im at work, so cant check it right now.
- To make it short:
- * self repeating Macros are still working in publish 17
- * self repeating aliases are not working in publish 17 (might depend on the depth of the chain).

- Recursive macros still function as of Publish 18 :) --Caray-tid 03:08, 16 Jun 2005 (CEST)
- And recursive aliases never worked. I remember a long time ago trying to do something like "/alias speak /say hello!; /speak", and the game wouldn't let me. --Influenza 19:41, 16 Jun 2005 (CEST)
